Committee minutes for July 2017

Minutes of the Committee meeting held on 19th July 2017
at 6.00 pm in the Education Centre

Present: Mark McGilchrist (Chair), Donald Hay (Vice-Chair), Alison Gordon (Secretary), John Gordon (Treasurer),  Alasdair Hood (Curator), Tricia Paton.

Apologies: Jodi-anne George (JOOT representative & co-opted member of the committee), Colin Robertson (Membership Secretary), Wendy Saywood (Minute Secretary).

Minutes and Actions of the Meeting of 15th June 2017
The minutes were sent prior to the meeting and were accepted by the Committee with minor amendments. 
Curator’s Report
The Curator presented his Native Plants Area Funding Application 2017 – 2020, and also a proposal for the stream part of the project, with a request that the Friends make a contribution and also submit an Awards for All application. Other sources of funding would also be explored. The Committee felt that a decision on this should be deferred until other funding had been exploredCrawick Multiverse. Crawick Multiverse
Treasurer’s Report
The current status of our funds is healthy.
Preparations for the Summer Gathering on 12th August are on-going with catering and the children’s activities confirmed.
Preparations for the Mad Hatters tea party (30th July) are on-going. 
A winter programme of talks is being prepared and will be included in the Autumn Newsletter and on the Friends Website.
The Friends will have a stand at the Dundee Flower & Food Festival from 1-3 September and members will be invited to staff this.
Work on the Garden Anthology project is progressing.
River Line project – ongoing.
Preparations for a children’s gardening group are continuing.  Members will be invited to make suggestions about this in the Autumn newsletter.

There being no further business the meeting closed.

The next Committee meeting will take place at 6.00pm on Wednesday 16th August 2017 in the Education Centre.
